Cornerstone Day Program

The Cornerstone Day Program is designed to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their goals, participate in their community and become as independent as possible.

Our day program encourages and enables people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live abundant lives filled with community, love and support.

At our Life Skills Center, there are many activities to choose from each day, like :

  • cooking and nutrition classes

  • sports

  • Bible studies

  • exercise

  • sensory room

  • art

  • technology time

  • gardening

  • piano lessons

  • puzzles, and games.

Some people choose to join a group, like book club, choir, walking club, or Cornerstone Helping Others (CHO) – a community service group. Others are a part of Resident Advocacy Council (RAC) where they discuss their rights and responsibilities and stories of advocacy work around the country and in the state of Georgia.

Each month, participants set the calendar for the month ahead with places they want to visit, including places like:

  • local farms

  • restaurants

  • stores

  • festivals

  • and museums.

The program is participant driven, promoting choice, social interaction and accessibility in all aspects of life within the community. Cornerstone provides a continuum of programs to empower each participant to develop skills and greater confidence while living full lives as contributing members of their community. We focus on the participant’s interest and personal growth while in the program.

Cornerstone opened in October 2012 and is based in the Oliver Life Skills Center on Wesley Glen’s Macon campus.

Cornerstone is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
