Special Olympics of Central Georgia at Wesley Glen was founded in November 2011. The agency was created to offer options to athletes of Georgia and to offer residents of Wesley Glen an athletic program. The program is offered to any Georgia resident with an intellectual disability. We believe and live out the phrase “no athlete left behind”. We provide year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Special Olympics of Central Georgia at Wesley Glen offers the following sports throughout the year: basketball, bowling, volleyball, tennis, golf, flag football, softball, floor hockey, track and field, bocce, and power lifting.

At Wesley Glen, we encourage our residents to stay healthy and active by competing at local Special Olympics games. Through the year, Wesley Glen residents participate in:

  • Flag Football
  • Softball
  • Floor Hockey
  • Track & Field
  • Golf
  • Volleyball
  • Basketball
  • Bocce Ball
  • Bowling
  • Tennis
